Ahead of arguably Vipers SC’s biggest game in history against TP Mazembe in the second round of the CAF Champions League, skipper Milton Karisa is full of belief and optimism.
The workaholic winger has stressed that the Venoms can get a positive result in the first leg on Sunday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, should they believe and stay committed.
“The coach (Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho) says we are a much stronger team than our opponents if we put in the commitment, and believe in ourselves that we must win the game,” he was quoted by Vipers’ media.
The Uganda Cranes star also asserted that much as it’s one of the club’s biggest games ever, only a victory would ease their job before the return leg.
“It’s one of the biggest games in Vipers’ history and we are ready for the big challenge ahead of us on Sunday.”
“We want to get good results in the first leg and that is a win, to make it an easier game in the second leg in Lubumbashi.”
Vipers will become just the second Ugandan side (after KCCA FC), to make the group stages in the current Champions League format, should they get past the continental powerhouse.
The winner on aggregate after two legs will progress, while the other side will dive into the CAF Confederation Cup.
