After a disappointing 2018/2019 Uganda Premier League season, Vipers Sports Club are trying to beat the clock and ensure all is well especially offensively ahead of the new season.
In a bid to hunt down more goals, the 2017/2018 UPL champions have added Fahad Bayo and Muhammad Shaban to their roster, they join from Buildcon FC in Zambia and Raja Casablanca in Morocco respectively.
Previously, Vipers hugely depended on Mzee Dan Sserunkama as the main source of goals and he didn’t disappoint, scoring twelve UPL goals last season on top of the 18 in the 2017/2018 tenure.
Recruitment of Bayo and Shaban in addition to Sserunkama and Tito Okello will give Vipers a number of options in front of goal.

“We want to be the best this time round and we can only achieve this feat by scoring goals and winning games,” Bayo told the club’s official website before adding.
“I made this decision to join Vipers because I know I can attain my goals at this special club.
“It was a tough decision to leave Zambia but I felt the need to re-establish myself in the Ugandan league hence the decision to sign for Vipers,” Bayo added.
Last season while at Buildcon, Bayo scored five goals and helped his former team to reach their maiden CAF Confederation Cup. Shaban struggled at Raja Casablanca but had initially scored 18 UPL goals for KCCA before he left.

The duo signed two-year deals each, though it’s not yet clear who the first choice striker will be, especially with Sserunkuma and Okello in the picture.
There is the supporting cast of Steven Mukwala, Denis Mwemezi, Henry Kitegenyi and Allan Kayiwa the latter three are also new recruits.
The others are defenders Paul Willa and Rashid Toha together with holding midfielder Siraje Ssentamu who returns from URA.
