CECAFA 2019: KCCA up against defending champions Azam, Proline to face APR

StarTimes Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA FC will face the defending champions of the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Azam FC next month.

The two teams are pooled in group B of the competetion that kickoffs on July 6th till 21st in Rwanda.

The other Ugandan representative Proline FC will face Rwanda giants APR FC in group C following the draws that were conducted on Friday  afternoon in Kigali, Rwanda.

Mukura FC from Rwanda and Bandari FC from Kenya are the other clubs that complete group B while Zambia’s Green Bufaloes and Somalia’s Heegan FC complete group C.

KCCA FC began preparations for the tournament earlier this week on Monday while Proline began this morning with a gym session at Club 5 in Makerere.

Tanzanian side Azam FC that is also home for Ugandan right back Nicholas Wakiro Wadada are the defending champions having defeated fellow Tanzanians Simba FC 2-1 at the National Stadium in 2018.

Group A – Rayon Sports, TP Mazembe, Atlabara, KMC

Group B – Azam, Mukura, Bandari and KCCA FC

Group C – APR, Green Buffaloes, Heegan

Group D – Gor Mahia, DCMP, KMKM, AS Ports
