Defending champions Kenya have revealed their 20 man squad that will represent the nation at this year’s CECAFA senior challenge Cup due December 7th – 19th in Kampala, Uganda.

Harambee stars veteran Joash Onyango who featured for the Harambee stars during the 2019 AFCON in Egypt makes the squad, which also includes Whyvone Isuza and Kenneth Muguna who were part of the 2017 CECAFA winning squad.

Surprisingly, AFC Leopard inform striker John Makwatta has been axed from the team. The striker has been instrumental for Leopards, netting five times so far in the league.

But getting goals will not be a huge worry for head coach Francis Kimanzi who has included Tusker FX forward Timothy Otieno.

Otieno has been in finer form this season, netting seven times in the Kenyan Premier League as Tusker have risen to second on the KPL log.

Mathare United quartet David Owino, Andrew Juma, Roy Okal, and veteran Kevin Kimani are also part of the team that will defend the title.

The Harambee stars were placed in Group B, where they will compete against Tanzania, Zanzibar and Sudan.

They will get their title defence underway against Tanzania on Sunday 8th, they then play Sudan on 10th, before wrapping up group stage action against Zanzibar three days later in what will be a repeat of the 2017 final.
