Uganda Cranes and Proline FC teenage sensation Bright Anukani has already enjoyed quite a roller coaster ride in his short footballing career.
Anukani is in his second season with the first team at Proline, but he has already been voted as the Most Valuable Player of the FUFA Big League after he guided his club to promotion to the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup last season.
But according to the playmaker, that has been part of his dream as he looks forward to what could be the biggest moment of his career.
He is in line of representing the Uganda Cranes in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup finals, when they take on Eritrea on Thursday, December 19th, at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
“Every player has dreams and goals, one of my dreams is to win trophies for both my club and country,” Anukani told football-256.
“I have achieved part of that with Proline, but am yet to win with the Cranes. But now that we are in the finals of the CECAFA senior challenge cup, I have a big chance of winning silverware with my mother country. And that provides the best moment of my career so far if achieved,” he added.
Anukani has given his first Cranes callup to be part of the squad that played at the 2019 COSAFA tournament and was a mainstay during the CHAN qualifiers.
Already at the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup tournament, he is one of the top-performing Uganda Cranes players with two goals and two assists to his name.
The forward’s superb year culminated with making the final three-man shortlist of the 2019 FUFA male player of the year, as well as being included on the FUFA team of the year.
