FUFA Elite League defending champions Kawempe Muslim have a chance to extend their lead at the summit of the Victoria Group as they host Rines should they earn maximum points come Saturday.
The game also provides an opportunity for Rines to avenge the 2-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Kawempe in the first round.
However, the worry is that Rines have failed to pick a point against Kawempe in the last meetings.
Kawempe is likely to miss skipper Mariam Nakabugo due to family problems, Aisha Nantongo who will not be released by her school st Noa and Grace Aluka who will have to pass late fitness test.
Rines will miss the services of defender Peace Janat because of injury. Kawempe Muslim head coach Ayub Khalifa confessed to ill preparations going into the game.
“We have not prepared as we used to, some disorganization here and there. Players are sick and some have not managed to turn up for training,” Khalifan told www.football-256.com.
“But that doesn’t mean we are going to lose, we are going to play to win. It will be bad if we lose at home though it is not going to be an easy game,” he asserted.
His counter part Fazil Ibrahim says they will play with a lot of respect because Kawempe is the defending champion.
“We respect them, they are the defending champions and still the team to beat. We shall put up a fight because the team has been in camp and almost every player around.”
“Of course it is going to be hard for us to win but at least we will fight for a point. We are ready and very ready for the game because it means a lot to us on the table,” Fazil added.
