Busoga United forward Joel Madondo and URA goalkeeper James Alitho have joined up with the Uganda Cranes team.
The Cranes are preparing for their first round qualifier for the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN) tournament against Burundi on Saturday 21st, September in Bujumbura.
Madondo comes in to replace Proline FC striker Edrisa ‘Torres’ Lubega who sustained an injury during Proline’s preparations for their tie against AS Kigali.
James Alitho on the other hand is called up to replace SC Villa goalkeeper, Saidi Keni.
The pair was involved in the team’s training today morning at the star times stadium, Lugogo.
Cranes interim Head coach Abdallah Mubiru expects to have a full house as the KCCA players who had traveled for the CAF champions league engagements are expected to join for the evening session.
The Cranes are expected to play the CECAFA U-20 bound Uganda Hippos team in a practice match at FUFA Technical center in Njeru.
Mubiru will trim his squad to 18 players on Wednesday, before they fly out to Bujumbura on Thursday.
