The second phase of the Uganda Cranes’ preparations for the 2022 African Nations Championship is on in Tunisia and they will be involved in a pre-tournament friendly game against Sudan on Tuesday.
After conducting their first training session in the North African nation on Monday, midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala noted that everyone’s head is up as preparations intensify.
“We are looking forward to playing our first pre-tournament game against Sudan on Tuesday,” Watambala told FUFA media before adding.
“We are working as a team and with that cooperation, we are focused on getting the best out of the upcoming CHAN tournament,” the Vipers SC midfielder added.
The Uganda Cranes up against Sudan game on Tuesday will take place at Jamel Stadium at 5 pm Ugandan time.
Besides Sudan, the Cranes will also play against Cameroon, Mali, and Swiss side Lausanne FC in the other friendly games.
At the end of the training camp in Tunisia later this week, the Uganda Cranes contingent will travel to Algeria the host nation of this year’s CHAN event.
Uganda is pooled in Group B alongside Senegal, Ivory Coast, and the Democratic Republic of Congo and will get their tourney underway against the latter at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba on January 14th.
