Uganda is part of the 18 nations that are taking part in the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Algeria, a tournament where only home-based players are eligible to participate.
Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic selected all 23 players from teams that play in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Uganda was drawn in Group B (termed a group of death by many) together with DR Congo, Senegal and Cote D’Ivoire but the mighty Cranes are yet to concede a goal in the opening two games played; against DR Congo and the favourites Senegal.
The boys drew 0-0 in the opening game against DR Congo and picked a 1-0 win against the favourites Senegal.
Vipers SC captain, Milton Karisa with the only goal of the game and URA FC captain, Nathian Alionzi saving a penalty.
Uganda Cranes, now Group B table leaders return to action on Sunday at 10 PM (EAT) against bottom side Cote D’ivoire in a game where the boys only need to avoid defeat to progress to the quarter final for the first time.
