Uganda Cranes’ first pre-tournament friendly game as they continue preparing for the 2022 African Nations Championship will be against Sudan at the Jamel Stadium in Tunisia on Tuesday evening.
Ahead of the encounter, head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is more than convinced that Sudan will provide his side with a huge competitive test.
“I believe that they are a good team to test ourselves against,” Micho told FUFA media after the Monday training session in Sousse.
“They have participated in CHAN twice in 2011 and 2018 and their top two clubs Al-Merrikh and Al Hilal are always in the Champions League including even this year.”
“Practically that talks volumes about the quality of their players and this will give us a good test in our first friendly match that we are going to have.”
“We had very good preparations in our first phase in Kampala and here in Tunisia we have mainly come to adapt, adjust, and acclimatize and such games will play a big part,” the Serbian tactician added.
The Uganda Cranes are in Group B of the competition that gets underway on January 13th in Algeria.
Senegal, Ivory Coast, and the Democratic Republic of Congo are their groupmates and they will kick off against DRC on January 14th.
