Gearing preparations for the Algeria African Nations Championships (CHAN), Uganda Cranes is bound to feature in four buildup matches against top African nations and a European side.

Cranes’ head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich confirmed the Cranes will play Cameroon, Mali, Sudan and Switzerland Premier League club Lausanne FC.

“We shall be isolated in one camp in Tunisia for a set of friendly matches, so it’s not a tournament,” the Serbian revealed to the press on Friday.

“We will focus on working on our final product against Sudan on January 3. We shall then play Cameroon which will give us a sense of Franco-phone Central African football.”

“We shall also play Mali on January 08th and then play Switzerland Premier League club Lausanne, that will give us a sense of European football,” confirmed Micho.

Uganda is pitted in Group B along with giants Senegal, Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Micho is convinced the preparations will be of help if they are to make it out of the group stages for the first time ever, after six attempts.

The Cranes will travel to Tunisia on Sunday before later connecting to Algeria after the preparation matches.

They will then open their campaign on January 14th against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba.
