Police FC bounced back from their loss to Vipers SC by defeating Bright Stars 1-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday evening.
Midfielder Simon Mbaziira’s thunderous strike in the 24th minute saw off Fred Kajoba’s side, who have been a enjoying an impressive run of late.
Police coach Abdallah Mubiru didn’t only want to win, he badly wanted to keep a clean sheet too which turned out to be their second of the season in 11 outings, having scored 14 and conceded the same number before this game.
“We celebrate the win, but not forgetting the clean sheet we promised, our defenders were calm on the ball with intelligent interceptions,” Mubiru told Football 256.
“We need to keep things tight at the back, but also polish the striking line and come back with more goals in our next encounter,” he added.

Bright Stars were wasteful with skipper Nelson Ssenkatuka failing to capitalise on a free header in the 18th minute. He also looked on as Davis Mutebi saved his free kick in the 28th minute.
