Coppa Italia: Juventus want to reclaim title as action hits the Round of 16

The 2019 Coppa Italia has reached the business end, as the competition hits the last 16 round this week. The gist of the fourth round will be the arrival of big names like Juventus, Lazio and Inter who will be joining the competition starting this round.

Seria A leaders Juventus will be aiming at regaining the title they lost last season when they take on fellow Serie A side Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.

The Biaconneri will be beaming with confidence after leapfrogging Inter Milan to regain top spot in the Serie A after a 2-1 victory over AS Roma on Sunday. Udinese, on the other hand, drew 1-1 at home to Atlanta.

Star player Christiano Ronaldo has been in superb form in 2020, and was again on the score sheet against Roma, cooly slotting from the spot. With the Coppa Italia still missing in his personal trophy cabin, it provides extra motivation for him to deliver success to Juventus.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri is expected to make a few changes to his line up, but goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon may make the team in place of Wojciech Szcezney.

Only two teams from the Serie B remain in the competition, will face tough encounters; Perugia will make a tough trip to Naples to face Napoli. Cremonese are also on the road as they travel to the Stadio Olympico to visit defending Champions Lazio with both fixtures coming on Tuesday.

Internazionale whose last trophy success came nine years ago, play host to Cagliari also on Tuesday.

Five time winners AC Milan will host fellow Serie A side SPAL, AS Roma visit Parma, while Fiorentina is at home to on-form Atlanta.

Africa’s leading digital TV operator, StarTimes, has secured the exclusive rights to the Coppa Italia and will show the top matches live and exclusive on the StarTimes football channels.
