Following his omission from the travelling team to South Africa at the expense of Egyptian based forward Daniel Isiagi, defender Patrick Mbowa has been reconsidered by head coach Abdallah Mubiru to replace KCCA FC midfielder Allan Okello.
According to reliable sources, Okello will fly out to Switzerland on June 26th for trials at FC Zurich, two days before the Cranes fly out to Durban, South Africa. However, he is still in the team camp at Sky Hotel until he departs.

The Tournament gets starts on Saturday, May 25th with group stage games, however, Uganda Cranes will start at the quarterfinal level on Saturday, June 1st 2019 against Lesotho.
