Bashir Mutanda’s later stages of the 2018/2019 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season were hindered by a nagging knee injury.
The SC Villa striker managed 13 goals all through and seemed destined for great things but his left knee couldn’t allow.
He persisted and managed to convince the coaches to consider him for the Cranes preparing for the 2019 COASA Championship in South Africa from June 25th to July 8th.
He even came from the bench to score that lone strike has the Cranes defeated the Western Region select side 1-0 in the regional tour on Sunday.
Having been confirmed on the 20 man squad on Monday heading to South Africa, Mutanda was dropped on Tuesday morning because of that knee injury
It’s had to tell who will replace him, in camp there is still Express’ Michael Birungi together with Egyptian based Daniel Isiagi, any of the latter two can fill the void left by Mutanda.
The team is training at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo under the watchful eye of Abdallah Mubiru and Livingstone Mbabazi.
