Crested Cranes score two vital away goals against Ethiopia

The Uganda Women’s  national football team the Crested Cranes haven’t lost it all amidst a slip to the Ethiopia’s Lucys in the CAF Women’s Olympics Qualifiers on Wednesday at the Addis Ababa National Stadium.

By the eleventh minute, the home side was in the lead after Aisha Namukisa couldn’t contain the pressure thus  putting the ball past her own custodian Ruth Aturo.

Uganda had an opportunity to level matters before the break of the first stanza when the referee awarded them a penalty but USA based Sandra Nabweteme hit the wood work.

On the return of the second half Loza Abera doubled for the Lucys in the 78th minute before Serkaddis Guta made it three just after two minutes.

Never was it late for the Crested Cranes and the pressure asserted to the home side led to an own goal through Tarikuwa Debiso and just after a  minute, second half substitute Hassifah Nassuna scored the second goal for Uganda.

The Crested Cranes return on Thursday early morning and will immediately  start preparations for the return leg scheduled for Saturday 6th April 2019 at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

Crested Cranes need a 1-0 win to advance to the stage of the qualifiers where they Will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

Unused substitutes: Daisy Nakaziro (GK), Juliet Nalukenge, Raticia Nabbosa, Amagat Marrion, Tracy Jones Akiror and Nanziri Resty
