Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President is not a man shy of expressing an opinion, never mind the sensitivity of the matter.
In his latest of episode of “spill it out,” the Legislator branded former Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre ‘overrated’.
“Desabre is overrated,” Magogo stung in a random WhatsApp engagement on Wednesday.
Desabre led the Cranes to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 in Egypt, before they lost to Senegal, courtesy of a Sadio Mane goal.
His two-year spell in the country is viewed by many as a huge success, given the fact that he was also known for his expressive attacking football.
As many see him as a huge upgrade on current head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich, who is also his predecessor, Magogo feels the praise is not worth it.
“He found a mature team that had just been to AFCON (2017) and a stellar 2018 World Cup campaign (qualifiers) by Micho.”
The damning statements come about 48 hours before the Cranes lock-horns with Democratic Republic of Congo, which is Desabre’s current home, in their first match of the African Nations Championships (CHAN).
The two will tussle it out in a Group B encounter on Saturday at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba, Algeria.
