Seven time winners Egypt will host the 2019 Total Afrca Cup of Nations from June 15th, to July 13th, 2019 after a CAF Extraordinary Assembly decided on Tuesday morning in Dakar Senegal.
Egypt garnered 16 votes to beat South Africa who got only one, the latter hosted the 1996 and 2013 finals after Kenya and Libya failed to be ready in time respectively.

Egypt, who last hosted the competition in 2006, will be hosting their fifth edition but the first time they will be hosting a 24 team tournament.
The tournament was initially scheduled to be hosted by 2017 winners Cameroon, which was going to be the first time since 1972.
On 30 November 2018, Cameroon was stripped of hosting rights due to infrastructural delays, the Boko Haram insurgency and the Anglophone Crisis.
