The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced the two dates the Cairo Derby between Zamalek and Al Ahly will take place this season.
The two Egyptian giants were set to face off against each another on match day four of the league in this season, but the game was postponed due to both clubs’ busy schedule.
However, the EFA has now confirmed that the first clash between Zamalek and Al Ahly this season will take place on April 18, and the second derby will kick off on May 10, with just over three weeks separating the fixtures.
The teams last met in the CAF Champions League final on November 27, which Pitso Mosimane’s Red Devils won 2-1 in what was an intense affair despite fans not being present in the stadium.
While Al Ahly have won 25 of their 44 previous meetings, Zamalek have won just 7 with 12 ending in draws.
