Speaking at pre-match media briefing ahead of Express FC’s first home game of the 2020/2021 Startimes Uganda Premier League season, head coach Wasswa Bossa expressed credence that his side will triumph against Soltilo Bright Stars even in captain, Enock Walusimbi’s absence.
The two teams meet on Saturday 12th at the Betway Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku hoping to get their season on track.
The Red Eagles’ boss was quick to respond to any questions regarding how much of a miss his captain’s absence will be; “yes, we will miss our captain.”
“Because of the red card he received in the last match but the good thing is we recruited players in different departments who are always ready whenever need arises.”
“So, we expect and we’re confident that whoever replaces him will as well give 100% such that we win the match.
“We have corrected our mistakes in regard to defending. We’ve concentrated more on scoring goals in the last two days, and certainly we’ll win,” a confident Bbosa added.
Experienced center back, Murishid Juuko echoed his manager’s thoughts, stating their readiness for the Matugga based outfit and confident of maximum points, regardless of Walusimbi’s unavailability.
“The last game was not as easy as we expected, we went to Arua expecting a win but all in vain.”
“We have spent this week preparing, trying to correct the mistakes we made and we think that with the tactics given to us by the technical bench(team).”
“We are going to achieve something tomorrow in the game and hopefully it’ll be a win,” the sanguine 26 year old said.
Juuko also sounded relaxed about Walusimbi’s absence; “its so bad that we’re going to miss him as a captain because he’s such a pillar. But, the team has so many able players,” Juuko added.
Betway sponsored Express drew their last outing against Onduparaka in Arua while Bright Stars drew 0-0 with URA after losing their opening game of the season 2-1 against KCCA FC.
Express sit ninth on the 16 team log with their visitors just at their back in 10th, each with only a point picked in their first match days.
