Express FC has completed the signing of Ugandan midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba on a free-transfer from KCCA.
Mutyaba joins the club on a one-year contract after spending five years at the MTN Omondi Stadium, having also previously played for Victoria University and Maroons FC.
Express described Mutyaba’s signing as a rare creative gem and is expected to add creativity to the midfield options available for head coach Wasswa Bbosa.
“They don’t come often and as creative as Muzamiru Mutyaba,” Express said in a statement on their website as they confirmed the midfielder’s signing.
“The ever composed and skilful creative midfield gem will now call Express FC home for the next one year joining as a free agent after he run down his contract with KCCA FC last season,” the statement added.
The 27-year-old has won three league titles, two Uganda Cups, the 2018 Uganda Super Cup and the CECAFA Club Championship in 2019.
He will expect to add more silverware to his resume at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium under Wasswa Bbosa who are in search of their first league title since 2012.
The Red Eagles are still unbeaten and will carry as much optimism into their next league fixture against Vipers as the Uganda Premier League resumes in February.
Express currently lie sixth on the league table with eight points from four league games, four points behind league leaders UPDF albeit with a game in hand.
