While everything is upside down for Express FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier, they have an opportunity to revive their season if they can have a stellar run in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Express eliminated Police FC 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw at the round of 16, the ten-time winners host BUL on Monday in the quarterfinals at the Betway Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku. 

The Red Eagles will come into this game with a clean bill of health, Eric Kambale, Mubarak Nsubuga and Captain Isaac Mutanga all returned from injuries.

“The whole team is ready and if anyone of us gets an opportunity we shall use it 100%. BUL is a strong side but we are at home with a lot of history and we are expected to win,” Express defender Hamis Batega told this website.

When the two teams met in the first round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Wankulukuku, they played to a barren stalemate.

However, BUL won the second round game at Njeru 1-0 courtesy of a late Muhindo Kambale strike, it was George Ssemwogerere’s first game in charge. 

“Our camp is really in very good shape, only waiting for the D-day to come and the boys are all focused, we have to go and overcome them (Express),” BUL FC head coach Peter Onen told www.football-256.com. 

“It is all about the team’s collectiveness that will guide us to come back with a win taking us to the semifinals,” he added.

BUL will rely much on services of Muhindo, he has been their leading marksman this season in the league and Uganda Cup. 

BUL eliminated Big League side Bukedea Town Council 4-1 at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru to make it to this stage. 

The game will kick off at 3 pm other than the usual 4 pm due to the prospect of playing extra time in case of a draw and penalties.
