Express have managed to score 17 goals in the first round of the 2018/2019 StarTimes Uganda Premier League, half of what KCCA FC (34) with the most have managed.
Police have the second best record of 24 goals, Vipers and BUL at 20 each together with Mbarara at 19 have scored more than Express in the first of the season.
Express’ goals have come from all over the place, Tony Odur leads with four, and the league’s leading scorer Bashir Mutanda from SC Villa has 10.
Eric Kambale, Michael Birungi and Ibrahim Kayiwa all have three each, Mubarak Nsubuga has managed two, Disan Galiwango and Badru Nsubuga each have one.
Going into the second round, Express’ coach Kefa Kisala wants more options, preferably one on a higher level than the ones he has now.
“We are willing to get a prolific striker, we still have like five available spots in our squad,” Kisala said before adding.
“However, it’s hard to get a goal scorer at the level we want but we will do our best to solve the issue.”
By the looks of things, Kisala wants to always outscore his opponents, because defensively Express don’t look very impressive.
The six time league champions have let in a disappoint 16, leaving them with a goal difference of just one, they occupy seventh spot on the 16 team log.
