Express missed Mutanga against Mbarara City

By Football256 Team

Express FC defender John Revita believes the side missed defender Isaac Mutanga in their StarTimes Uganda Premier League tie against Mbarara City on Tuesday.

Revita captained the Red Eagles in the absence of the injured Mutanga and put in a reputable performance that ended 0-0 and insists the game would have had a different equation if Mutanga had played.

“We missed the services of Mutanga but Pius Mbidde who replaced him played well,” Revita told www.football256.com.

“Mbidde’s job was to block and keep Mucureezi out of the game and silent and he did it well, as you saw throughout the game Mucureezi didn’t appear like in their past games,” he added.

Revita also acknowledges it was a difficult game owing to the fact that as the home side they gave too much respect to their visitors.

“It was a difficult game because both teams gave each other respect in the first minutes as they studied each other but we were stronger.”

“We needed three points but that is football not that everything you need comes as you wish it. We handled the game very well unfortunately goals couldn’t come,” he added.

Express’ next fixture is the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal tie against BUL FC at Betway Muteesa II Stadium on March 11th.

“Uganda Cup is a knockout competition in that if you keep a clean sheet you defend well and in Uganda Cup we have to do better even if we don’t score but we have to make sure we don’t concede.”

“In Uganda cup if you concede the work is doubled but if you keep a clean sheet you have a chance to win in penalties but we want to beat them in 90 minutes,” Revita noted.
