Since Onduparaka FC gained promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in 2016, they have never lost to Express FC something Express will be looking forward to breaking when they host the Caterpillars at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Wednesday.

The two sides have met nine times, with Onduparaka winning on four occasions, Express just once while the rest have been draws. Three of Onduparaka’s wins have been at Wankulukuku.

“We know how big the game against Onduparaka is. They are a strong opponent in that they have won most times they have visited us,” Express coach Wasswa Bbosa told the club’s media ahead of the game.

“But we shall try to change that by trying to win the game on Wednesday. We are in good shape after winning our last game against Vipers,” Bbosa added.

However, Wednesday’s games comes with the Red Eagles in the hunt for their first title since 2012. The game comes at the right time for Express to eventually win their first game against the Caterpillars at home.

Express is seated third on the 16-team log on 40 points, four behind leaders URA on 44 points as the title race raves on with 10 games to go.

On the other hand, the Arua based side find themselves not as strong as they were in the previous seasons something that could give Express hope of winning this time around.

The Caterpillars are languishing down in the bottom half of the table on 24 points, only five points above the relegation zone.

Wasswa Bbosa’s charges come into this game on the back of a vital win away to champions Vipers SC which was also their first-ever at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Joseph Mutyaba’s side has lost three league games on a bounce with the latest a 1-0 loss to KCCA FC on Sunday.

Both teams shared spoils when they last met in the reverse fixture following a one-all draw at Aba Bet Green Light Stadium in Arua. Frank Kalanda was on target for Express from the penalty spot while Living Kabon scored for Onduparaka from the spot as well.

The host will draw inspiration from Godfrey Lwesibawa, Martin Kizza and Eric Kambale who have been in great form recently.

Onduparaka will be hoping Kabon finds his scoring boots after a dry spell of late despite being one of the SUPL’s leading goal scorers on nine goals.
