Six time StarTimes Uganda premier League winners Express FC continued their surge up the table with a 4-0 victory over BUL Bidco at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

Express who were heads and shoulders above their hosts saw themselves take a 3-0 lead into half time before second half substitute Ibrahim Kayiwa marked his return to the team with a header in the 75th minute.

The hosts saw more of the ball from the start but fell behind inside 10 minutes as Murshid Juuko’s header off Godfrey Lwesibawa’s corner for his first goal for the club.

BUL nearly drew level almost immediately, left back Agrrey Maddoi’s driven cross meeting Musa Esenu but the striker’s header was inches off target.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, Ibrahim Mugulusi turning Arthur Kiggundu’s free kick into his own net.

The Betway sponsored side, who had not won against BUL on the road added a third with four minutes to half time, George Ssenkaaba rising high to power Lwesibawa’s cross past goalkeeper Abdul Kimera who was caught out by the game.

With The Red Eagles comfortable in the lead, the second half did not quite light up as BUL looked devoid of any attacking inspiration and intent.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men whose biggest victory in the encounter was a 2-0 win back in 2018, further compelled BUL’s sombre evening with a fourth goal with 15 minutes to play.

Eric Kambale beat Dougas Bithum and goalkeeper Kimera who had rushed off his line to the ball before teeing up second half substitute Ibrahim Kayiwa to head home his first goal of the season at the far post.

The victory lifts Wasswa Bbosa’s men into third on the table on 16 points, level with second placed Police FC and two points behind leaders Vipers SC.

BUL on the other hand continue their stuttering start to the season as they suffer their fifth loss in eight games.
