A month after agreeing to a one year shirt sponsorship deal with betting company Melbet, Express FC is set to throw it under the trenches for another gambling entity, in a deal worth millions.
Reliable sources have indicated to Football256.com that the Red Eagles are closing in on Sure Bet for a lucrative two-year deal.
Reportedly, the Mukwano Gwabangi will earn in the region of UGX200 million per year for the next two seasons.
Melbet was to appear at the back of the Express Jersey, which meant there was still more room for other sponsors including the front of the shirt.
Despite not revealing the numbers in the initial Melbet deal, the latter is set to be compensated by the parties involved.
The Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions are not strangers to partnerships with betting companies, as they also had Betway on their kits two years back.
With the latter, the club’s important strides included winning the 2020/21 League and the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup.
Sure Bet will thereby become their third betting partner in a space of two years.
