Express FC captain Enock Walusimbi has recovered from a hip strain injury that has kept him out since matchday one of the 2021/2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign.
The Uganda Cranes defender who last featured in the 2-0 loss to Arua Hill SC on the opening day of the season, is back in training and working on his fitness with the derby against rivals SC Villa around the corner.
“It has been a while for me, I did not expect such a bad start to the season but I am happy that I am back to full training,” Walusimbi told the club media before adding.
“My immediate focus now is to be match fit ahead of the derby and I do not doubt that I will because it is a massive fixture and we need to earn maximum points.”
“The boys have stepped it up, the break has enabled us to make a few corrections and I believe when the league resumes we shall have no option but to continue winning games,” he added.
Despite enduring a poor run of results at the start of the season, when they lost two back to back games to Arua Hill and UPDF FC, the Wankulukuku based side are steadily finding their groove.
They have since lost no game, winning two against BUL FC and Police FC while they have drawn the other against Vipers SC.
The defending champions have gathered seven points from five games and are seated seventh on the 16-team SUPL log.
Walusimbi and his teammates will host record SUPL winners Villa on Saturday, November 20 after the international break.
