Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact fans were left impressed with the performance of Ugandan left-back Mustafa Kizza’s on his first appearance for the club on Monday morning.
Kizza was brought on in the 71st minute as a substitute for Amar Sedjic during Impact’s 3-2 win over DC United courtesy of Bojan Krkic, Victor Wanyama and Romell Quioto’s strikes.
Kizza was vital in the build-up to the winning goal that booked the Thierry Henry coaches side a place in the MLS Cup playoffs.
Kizza’s beautiful cross-field pass to the left flank found Mason Toye who picked out Quioto to score the winner in the 88th minute.
Montreal Impact fans took to its Facebook page to show love to the left back for quite an impressive performance on his debut.
One fan commended him for his passion creative mind and his ability to deliver quality crosses with ease while another likened him to Real Madrid left back Marcelo.
“The chance creation, the assist mentality and the passion to see the team keeping going forward is super amazing about the young talent,” Ronnie Balbuena commented.
“He seems to be able to deliver great quality crosses and passes,” Francois Charlebois said.
“He still has a lot to offer, that was just a sneak peek of what he can do, he’s an amazing left back, excellent delivery of the ball, good at set pieces and my oh my he’s got a brilliant first touch. I liken him to Marcelo. It’s just a matter of time and you will see what I’m talking about Uganda,” Tibihaburwa Enock said.
Kizza completed his move to the Major League Soccer side in July on a two-year contract. He is tipped to flourish at Montreal Impact after a promising start to life with the MLS side.
