Blacks Power FC head coach Vialli Bainomugisha has challenged his players to handle the game against Kataka FC with extra care, as it is a tricky team to beat.

With two games to go until the end of the Big League season, the two sides will lock horns at Mbale Municipal Stadium on Thursday.

“It is an Eastern derby and it is going to be a tricky fixture,” Bainomugisha told Football256 ahead of the game.

“We thought we would come into this game to confirm promotion but we failed to win against Proline.”

“But such incidents happen and how we respond is the most important thing. Thursday’s game is a final and we should not mess it up,” he stated.

The above fixture could determine the fate of either side as far as the promotion to the Uganda Premier League is concerned.

Kataka and Blacks Power are level on 35 points and they also have the same goal difference of 16.

But the former occupies the top spot having scored a goal more. Thursday’s hosts have managed 33 goals compared to the visitors’ 32.

When Blacks Power hosted Kataka in the reverse fixture, the game ended in a one-all draw in December 2021.

Bainomugisha’s charges and Geoffrey Awachango’s side are vying to earn their maiden appearance in the UPL.
