Prolines’ automatic promotion back to the Uganda Premier League after just one season and qualifying for the finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup for the first time in their history is something that didn’t come by accident.
Following the appointment of Shafiq Bisaso as head coach at the start of the 2018/19 season, he made it clear to the club executive and players that his primary goal was to guide the club back to the top flight. Something both parties embraced and positively started working towards.
“My goal was very clear upon my return to Proline and that was promotion and this has not been accidental but planned,” Bisaso told www.football-256.com after his side defeated Kabale Sharp 2-0 to gain automatic qualification.
“I taught the lads one skill that might seem simple but tricky to understand and that’s listening to what you are told but not mere listening as a sense which they have greatly followed.”
“I also thank the club management for the support they have given me and the players throughout,” he added.
In what is undoubtedly their best ever season, Proline will play Wakiso Giants in the Star Times FUFA Big League finals on May 18th at Lugogo before playing in the Stanbic Uganda Cup finals against Bright Stars at the Masaka Recreation grounds on May 25th.
