Crested Cranes and Kawempe Muslim midfielder Shamirah Nalugya is the latest addition to the Uganda U-17 Girls camp and will be boasting the squad as preparations intensify for the U-17 World Cup qualifiers second leg against Tanzania.
Uganda host Tanzania at the StarTimes Stadium on March 14, with the latter holding a 2-1 advantage after the first leg played in Tanzania a week ago.
Nalugya was summoned as part for the Uganda squad ahead of the first leg against Tanzania in Dar-es-Salaam, but failed to join the camp due to personal reasons.
The other positive news in camp is that Uganda Martyrs midfielder Kevin Nakachwa and Kawempe defender Stella Musibika who also missed the first leg due to injury return for the second leg.
While midfielder Shakira Nyinagahirwa will be suspended for the return leg after accumulating two yellow cards in the qualifiers.
Uganda coach Ayub Khalifah will rely very much on Nalugya after her first round performance in the FUFA Women Super League where she scored two goals and helped Kawempe to the top of the log with 16 points.
Nalugya is expected to rejuvenate her exciting partnership with Fauzia Najjemba. The pair scored a combined total of 21goals in 28 games with Isra before Najjemba and Nalugya joined Kampala Queens and Kawempe Muslim respectively.
