FIFA U-17 WWC: Asia, Oceania fill up qualification spots

Qualification spots for the 2021 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, India for the continents of Asia and Oceania have been completed, Kick442.com can report.

According to the latest updates on qualification for the tournament, three countries including the host, India will represent Asia, while Oceania has one qualification slot.

Hosts India, Korea DPR, and Japan will represent Asia at the tournament, while Australia will be the sole representative of Oceania.

The competition which was initially slated to be held between November 2 – 21 2020, will now take place from February 17 – March 7, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

West African rivals, Nigeria and Ghana will fight it out for one of the three Africa’s qualification slots later this year.

Uganda will play Cameroon, while South Africa will tussle with Morocco for the other slots, with the final legs of the qualifiers to be played in the windows of October 31 – November 1 and November 20 – November 22

Spain is the defending champions of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, having won their first title in 2018.
