By Brian Aheebwa

KCCA FC Junior team defeated Vipers Junior Team 3-2 on Sunday at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo to edge to closing a slot in the finals with two games of the regular season to go.

Fixtures between the two sides come with a lot of tension hunger and this one wasn’t any different as Joseph Kafumbe with a brace and Sadat Anaku with the other made sure KCCA FC came out on top.

Sula Mpanga appeared to have put the Venoms into the lead but only to be denied by the flag for offside in the 15th minute.

moments later, Kafumbe broke the deadlock for KCCA, his powerful freekick was mistimed by Vipers shot stopper Mutwalib Mugolofa as he failed to punch it away.

Conceding first didn’t break down the Venoms who continued piling pressure onto KCCA FC and were rewarded with a penalty in the 28th minute after Ivan Asaba was fouled into the area. Najib Yiga leveled matters from 12 yards.

Just after an hour mark, Kafumbe was on target again for KCCA FC with a screamer outside the 18-yard box, 2-1 the hosts led.

Having fallen behind to KCCA again, Vipers looked more threatening as they pushed for an equalizer.
