The footballing curtains were officially drawn on the calendar year of 2019 at the Airtel FUFA Awards ceremony in what was an occasion of glamour and grandeur held at the Speke Ball Room at the Munyonyo Speke Resort.
Attendance was exclusively on an invite, with only a select few of the football fraternity granted access to the function, and surely they had an evening to remember at the Speke Ball Room.
Of course like it has become a norm with corporate functions, there were the usual speeches from different dignitaries that never seemed to end.
With the chief guest of honour, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera – being the most wanting character in this regard.
But on the brighter side, the awards night which had a staggering cumulative of 14 awards dished out on the night was the biggest of its kind since the inaugural event in 2015.
And to better that, each category winner bagged themselves a whopping UGX 1,000,000 to take home alongside the golden ball accolade.
The biggest winners on the night without a shadow of a doubt were both the men’s and women’s footballer of the year, who got a once in a lifetime opportunity to drive home with a brand new vehicle of the UBG registration series.
The Airtel FUFA men’s player of the year was won by KCCA and Uganda Cranes teenage forward Allan Okello while the Airtel FUFA women’s player was bagged by striker Juliet Nalukenge.
