Former Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler was the main attraction on Sunday 2nd December at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo when he arrived to conduct a football clinic in partnership with the Brian Umony Foundation.

Fowler who is in Uganda for the Barclays Bank #SuperFan activation where customers get a chance to win trips to England to watch the premier league encouraged the youngsters to focus and be disciplined.

“To be honest, I can’t tell you exactly what I did to be where I am,” the Premier League Legend told the children before adding. “I can only ask you to believe in yourself, be disciplined and remain focused towards your goal.”

The former England international along with Uganda Cranes striker Brian Umony conducted a one and a half hour session which involved kids of the age bracket 7-12 years.

For Brian Umony, this is a huge boost and hopes many of these come along.

“Everyone knows how scarce resources are for these talented kids from the Underprivileged areas but such activities are a boost to help mentor kids and we as the foundation are forever grateful” Umony said.

Fowler who has been in Uganda since Friday wraps up his tour with a meet and greet session along with Barclays Bank’s premier customers on Sunday before flying back to the UK.
