FUFA awards excellence at AGM

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has awarded outstanding members at the 97th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly held at Wash and Wills Hotel in Mbale.

Football coach Charles Namakhola and former referee Rajab Mohammed Walangalira from the Eastern Region FA were recognized for their unwavering contribution to the beautiful game of football.

“I want to thank everyone here in your different capacities for promoting the game of football,” FUFA president Moses Magogo said before Namakhola, and Walangalira were appreciated.

They each got a plaque that came with a financial package of Shs 1m as the Assembly also approved Mr Ahmed Juma and Mr Chris Kalibbala as Honorary Members for their contribution to football.

Namakhola, born on 10th October 1954 in Sironko District was part of the famous Gangama FC squad that won the Uganda Cup in 1976.

He played for the club from 1971-1977, he also played for Nytil between 1978-1984.

Namakhola started his coaching career in 2001 after training in Germany. He has since coached Telestar, Miltary Police, Uganda Cranes B, Iganga Town Council, JMC Hippos and CRO FC. He is currently the head coach of Bukedi Province.
