“Blessed is the hand that gives because it will receive abundantly,” says Acts 20:35, and looks like The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is reading from the same script.
FUFA on Thursday joined the ever-growing bandwagon of donors to the COVID-19 Uganda national task force that trots under the office of the Prime Minister.
The delegation was led by State Minister of Sports Hamson Denis Obua as they handed over 2.5 tonnes of rice of relief food to the National task force through the office of the Prime Minister.
The federation meanwhile was represented by president Moses Magogo, first and third vice presidents Justus Mugisha and Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi respectively, together with the CEO Edgar Watson.
FUFA further requested for permission through the same office to be allowed deliver 10 tonnes of rice to over 2000 football players and officials countrywide who are no longer earning without football being played due to the current lockdown.
FUFA is targeting players from the StarTimes Uganda Premier, the FUFA Big League, the FUFA Women Super League and the FUFA Women Elites League in a door to door delivery exercise to bring the total to 12.5 tonnes worth UGX 50M.
