By Football256 Team

Kampala queens and UCU Lady Cardinals are almost in this season’s FUFA Women Elite League playoffs after both won their away game in the Elizabeth Group this week.

Lilian Mutuuzo helped Kampala Queens register a hard fought 1-0 win against Uganda Martyrs in a game played at Rubaga on Wednesday.

This means that Kampala Queens maintain their position on top of Elizabeth group with 27 points with just one game to end regular season.

In other games from Elizabeth Group UCU Lady Cardinals went back home with joy after a 4-2 win against Makerere University.

UCU skipper Maureen Kinavudoli scored a brace with talisman Hasifah Nassuna and Jacky Nakasi scoring a goal each to seal the victory for the visitors.

Young-star Catherine Nagadya scored all the two goals for the home team but they were not enough on the day.

UUC’s win takes them to 27 points as table leaders Kampala Queens but three in front of third-placed Olila.

Town View Bugiri went on to register their first ever win in the FUFA Women Elite League and this came against Lango Queens at home.

Elizabeth Anyango scored the only goal to give her side victory though much as it means nothing on the table as both teams are already relegated.

Action went on but this time in Victoria group after relegation threatened Asubo Gafford Ladies registering a huge 3-0 win against Dynamic to go one point clear away from relegation.

Joan Nabirye, Claire Namatovu, and skipper Shakira Mutiibwa scored for Gafford to seal the victory.

Things got from bad to worse for Rines as they failed to beat Muteesa 1 Royal University at home settling for a goalless draw.

Rines saw themselves back in the relegation zone with just one point behind Ajax Queens and Gafford who sit fifth and sixth respectively.

Lady Doves completed a double against Ajax Queens this season after a 3-2 win at Katushabe grounds in Masindi.

Nuru Nakyanzi scored a brace and Lillian Veronica scored the other for Lady Doves as skipper Phiona Nabbumba and Rukia Namubiru scored for Ajax.

Surprises went on to show case on match day 13 when giants Kawempe Muslim lost 1-0 to She Corporates, their second consecutive loss this season.

Kenyan international Jackie Ogwol scored for Corporate to record their first ever win against Kawempe since 2015.
