UCU Lady Cardinals’ head coach Peter Ssebulime believes his side can go all the way if they maintain their exceptional performance as they did against Isra on Saturday.
UCU defeated Isra 4-2 in the FUFA Women Elite League game played in Mukono in a game Hasifa Nassuna scored a hat-trick as the Mukono side.
“We can go on to make history and I thank my players who showed up and put up a good performance on the day, ” Ssebulime told www.football-256.com.
“Every team played to their best though we utilized our chances that doesn’t mean we didn’t make mistakes.”
“We have recognized some mistakes and we are going to improve before we play Kampala queens which I think will be a tough game for us,” Ssebulime noted.
The win takes UCU temporarily on top of the Elizabeth Group on 21 points in ten games, Isra remain fourth with 16 points just two ahead of Uganda Martyrs who play Town View on Sunday at Lubiri SSS Mengo.
Nasuuna’s goals came in the 4th, 28th and 85th minute of the game, UCU skipper Maureen Kinavudoli scored the other as UCU sealed the victory.
It was Fauzia Najjemba who grabbed a brace for Isra, goals coming in the 81st and 88th minutes of the game.
- UCU’s 4-2 win against Isra was the second this season after 1-0 win away from home.
