Maroons Ladies’ team will be playing in the 2019/2020 FUFA Women Elite League season after a 3-2 win on aggregate against Wakiso Hills on Saturday, June 22nd.
In a game played at Kawempe Muslim Playground saw Maroons get the lead in the 26th minute through talisman Sophia Nakiyingi before Sumaya Tibazalika grabbed an equalizer for Wakiso Hills just five minutes to the end of the game.
Maroons won the first leg fixture 2-1 at home in Luzira on Wednesday last week before the one all draw against the same side on Saturday to guarantee them a place in the FUFA Women Elite League next season.
Four teams in Dynamic, Rine, Lango Queens and Town View from Victoria group and Elizabeth group respectively were relegated back to regional league.
Tooro Queens the other team from Kitara region joins Maroons after winning 3-2 away from home against Bunyaruguru to make it 6-2 on aggregate.
Bunyaruguru failed to travel to Fort Portal to play Tooro Queens in the first leg fixture which forced FUFA to award Tooro Queens three points and three goals.
