Wakiso Hills registered their first victory in the 2020/21 FUFA Women Elite League to seal progress to the tournament quarterfinals from Group D.
Goals from Justine Birabwa, Sylvia Namiwanda and Faith Namudde earned Wakiso Hills a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lango Queens to finish second in the group, behind She Maroons.
After a goalless first half, Wakiso Hills took the lead five minutes into the second half through Birabwa’s freekick, seven minutes later, Jeridah Nanyonjo missed a glorious chance to double the lead.
Wakiso continued on the front foot and in the 63rd minute, Namiwanda doubled Wakiso’s lead, with Namuddu sealing a dominant second half performance with a third in the 83rd minute.
Wakiso Hills complete the group with four points having secured a point in the goalless draw against Lango Queens, They lost the second game against She Maroons before their victory over Echos.
In the other game, She Maroons completed a perfect group journey with a 1-0 victory against Lango Queens.
Winnie Kyomugisha scored her fourth goal of the tournament with ten minutes of the second half to complete a trio of victory in Group D.
The FEWL quarterfinals kick off on Saturday as King of Kings plays against Bunyaruguru WFC. Rines WFC will verse Dynamic Jjeza on May 29, 2021.
The other two games will see Amuria High School play against Wakiso Hills while She Maroons face off Ajax Queens on May 30, 2021.
