UCU Lady Cardinals were comfortable 3-0 winners over Isra Soccer Academy in the FUFA Women Super League at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Friday morning.
Hasifah Nassuna scored a double with Teddy Najjuma adding the other inside the last 10 minutes to lift Lady Cardinals into second place as they keep their hopes of a semi-final place intact.
The Lady Cardinals ran over their opponents from the start and called Isra goalkeeper Brenda Kasana into action in the seventh minute.
Two minutes later, Cissy Nakate had a goal cancelled for offside while Nassuna had a goal cancelled for a handball.
UCU continued their dominance through the second half, Jackeline Nakasi put her shot against the upright moments before defender Shadia Nankya missed a seater from close range.
The Lady Cardinals finally got the breakthrough with 10 minutes to go through Nassuna. Two minutes later Najjuma extended the lead with a clinical header.
In the 90th minute, Nassuna scored the third to seal an emphatic win for the Lady Cardinals.
The result sends UCU in the second position with six points from three games to keep their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive.
UCU will search for maximum points in their fixture against Olila High School on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
