KCCA FC midfielder Gift Ali thinks teammate Mike Mutyaba can be the best forward again in the country and prove his critics wrong.
The KCCA forward has not disappointed Mike Mutebi who gave him playing time in offensive position since his arrival in July last year.
The 27 year old has scored four and three goals in UPL and Uganda Cup respectively this season. Teammate Gift Ali opined Mutyaba has already proven critics wrong.
“He is an offensive player. Yes he can be the best again and prove his critics wrong,” Ali told www.football-256.com.
Under Coach Mutebi’s system in which rotation is religiously implemented, Mutyaba finds himself competing with natural Centre forward Patrick Kaddu and creative talent Allan Okello for positions.
Nevertheless according to Ali, Mutyaba has the muscles to manage the situation.
“Patrick Kaddu is a more central striker but the coach likes rotating the players. He (Mutyaba) will be ready wherever his given time.”
“He has played fewer games and scored as many as 7 goals. That tells you how prolific he has become in front of goal,” Ali added.
The Former El-Merriehk, TP Mazembe, Express and Vipers player stayed injured for close to two years before joining the Lugogo based side. According to Ali, KCCA is right place for the attacker.
“I think he is in the right team. He is doing good already. He can only get better. There’s competition at the team in every position. The coach knows how to get the best out of all the players.”
Mutyaba has another chance to keep critics in their territory in Tuesday’s StarTimes Uganda Premier fixture against URA at the Mandela National Stadium.
