KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi is smiling ear to ear again after his side rediscovered their scoring touch at least in their last four games.
The latest victim was the Lira based FUFA Big League side Amuka Bright Stars who lost 8-2 in the Uganda Cup on Wednesday afternoon at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
The result enabled cup holders KCCA FC to book a spot in the round of 32.
The10 time cup winners through Mike Mutyaba’s hat trick along with a Steven Sserwada brace took a five 5-1 first have lead.
That was completed by an Allan Okello braces plus a Julius Poloto strike in the second half to finish the onslaught.
The Kasasiro boys have now scored sixteen goals conceding only three in their last four games in all competitions.
It’s such a performance that puts a smile on Mutebi’s face saying goals will bring back the confidence of his team.
“The team played well although I expected more goals,” Mutebi said before adding.
“Now the confidence is returning day by day, the more goals we score the more confident the players become.”
Elsewhere, last season’s cup finalists Vipers SC could get a bye into the next round after their opponents Rusekere Growers failed to turn up at St. Mary’s Kitende for the game.
Rusekere join Paidha Black Angels, Akodat FC, JMC Hippos, Calvary FC, Vision FC who didn’t turn up for their respective fixtures.
Outcome of those fixtures will await for the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel to pronounce itself after studying the referees’ reports.
