Vipers SC head Coach Edward Golola is delighted with the quality and attributes that the club’s new signing Paul Mucureezi has to offer the club in their quest of league success.
Mucureezi was unveiled as a Vipers player on Tuesday afternoon, joining the club on a free transfer after his contract with previous side Mbarara City expired in December last year.
The 27-year old put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will see him at the club until 2023, with an option for a further year.
The former KCCA forward will add industry, goals and speed to the Venoms attack that scored 23 goals from 15 league games averaging just 1.5 goals per game, and according to Golola, Mucureezi fits the type of player the club was lacking.
“Mucureezi is one of the best wingers or forwards in the Uganda Premier League. I am delighted he has signed with us.”
“He has the right work ethic, talent and mentality to play for Vipers SC and he fits exactly the type of player we were looking for to bring into the squad to help us improve and push on further,” Golola told the club’s official website.
On his part, the forward said he is thrilled to be joining the club and is looking forward to an exciting journey with the Venoms, and hopes to make contributions to the team’s efforts of winning trophies.
“l am thrilled to be joining Vipers SC. I have enjoyed my time at Mbarara City FC enormously and l have learned a lot there.”
“But I’m looking forward to another journey now with the Venoms. I’m keen to get started and make my contribution to the team’s efforts to win trophies,” Mucureezi told Vipers’ official website.
Mucureezi started his career at Vipers’ development St. Mary’s SS Kitende but did not make the cut to the senior side before he left the club for KCCA in 2014.
