Ahead of the new football season in Uganda, KCCA FC has recruited several players, teenagers and the experienced.

One of their latest signing is Haruna Lukwago who together with other mates won the Cambiasso and Rainbow U20 International Tournament in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The right full back was quick to urge his age mates to carry the same winning mentality into the senior team.

“I am delighted to join KCCA FC because it is every young player’s dream club,” Lukwago said as quoted by the club website.

“I was happy when I got my first chance with the club in the Cambiasso tournament and we won it.”

“It was a very good feeling for me and my mates and it is the same success I want to achieve now that I have been signed to the senior team.

“I want to give my best to this club and win a lot here. I have shared with the managers about the responsibilities and expectations and I believe I am ready for the challenge,” he added.

Lukwago who featured for Mbale Heroes FC in the preceding campaign has joined the Kasasiro Boys on a five year contract until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Besides Mbale Heroes, he also played for CRO FC, Rwampara FC and Mbarara City FC Junior Team previously.

The other young players the club has acquired on long term contracts are Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja, and Allan Enyou.

Moses Waiswa, Muhammad Shaban, Daniel Isiagi, Mustafa Mujuzi, Muhamed Ssenoga, Tshisungu Kankonde and Allan Okello on loan are the experienced players that have so far been added to the team.

Silverware has eluded Morley Byekwaso’s side for now three seasons and they will be aiming at least a trophy next season.

The 13 time StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions will begin their 2022/23 season at home against Wakiso Giants FC on Saturday, October 1.
