Husein Kheri replaces Odowa at Mbale Heroes

By Edwin Kyle Kule

Hussein Kheri has been appointed head coach of FUFA Big League side Mbale Heroes until the end of the season, the club has confirmed.

Kheri replaces Bobic Odowa who was relieved of his duties together with his entire backroom staff on Wednesday following a horrendous start to the season.

Odowa was in charge of the club for four games this season, drawing twice against Calvary and a 1-1 draw with Paidha Black Angels.

But it is double losses to Gadaffi FC in the league and the latest a 1-0 loss in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 first leg that prompted the club to react.

Kheri was unveiled by the club on Thursday morning at the Mt. Elgon Hotel in Mbale.

Kheri will be assisted by Robert Mayanja and David Kiwanuka. Their first task in charge of the club will be the Uganda Cup return leg against Gadaffi.

Mbale Heroes trail in the tie 1-0 after the first leg.
