Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has urged his charges to work together in order to form a solid defence when they lock horns with Vipers SC on Tuesday.

The Red Eagles will host the Venoms at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku in what is either side’s game in hand it was postponed from matchday two.

But after witnessing Vipers FC thrash MYDA Football Club 7-0 at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday, Express FC defenders will have work to do in order to deal with ruthless Vipers forwards.

“First of all, we are prepared for the game tomorrow because during the break our bosses provided us with everything required and we have had enough friendly games,” Bbosa said in his pre-match press conference.

“It is pleasing that we managed to keep a clean sheet in our last game against SC Villa and throughout the break, we have emphasized the issue of keeping clean sheets.”

“Because depending on how Vipers plays, we shall need be better off in defence in order not to concede and also try and improve upfront so that we score and win the game,” he added.

The Express defence is led by the experienced Uganda Cranes defender Murushid Juuko who is partnered by the club’s captain Enock Walusimbi.

The two will be helped by Arthur Kiggundu and Isa Lumu in order to contain the unrelenting Paul Mucureezi, Yunus Ssentamu and Ceaser Manzoki amongst other Vipers forward.

Bbosa’s side comes into this game having managed only a single clean sheet registered when they beat Villa 1-0, in their four games played so far this season.

In the search for goals, Frank Kalanda who was the Red Eagles top scorer last season on 11 games, should bring out his A-game. He is again their leading goal scorer so far this season with two goals.

Express will be looking for their first win against Vipers since 2016 when they defeated them 1-0 away from home.

The 2012 SUPL champions are ninth on the 16-team log with eight points and a win tomorrow takes them to 11 points level on points with second-placed URA FC.

On the other hand, Vipers who are third on 10 points will go top of the summit on 13 points should they manage to collect maximum points.
