Didier Gomes Da Rosa targets coaching Simba SC for a long period of time after being unveiled as their head coach.
The Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions officially announced Didier Gomes Da Rosa as their new head coach on Sunday.
The French tactician was appointed to replace Sven Vandenbroeck, who left the club a day after leading the Msimbazi to the group stages of the Caf Champions League in January.
“I want to be with the Lions for a long time,” Da Rosa said during his unveiling on Sunday.
“I’m very happy to be here and we have the opportunity to do more together in the future,” he added.
The 51-year-old coach arrives at a time when Simba are making preparations to feature in their own organised tournament, the Super Cup 2021, where Al-Hilal and TP Mazembe will feature starting January 27.
They are also preparing for Champions League Group A duties where they are pitted against AS Vita, Al Ahly and El-Merreikh.
Da Rosa has vast experience in African football having previously taken charge of Rayon Sports in Rwanda, Coton Sport, CS Constantine, JSM Skikda, Ethiopian Coffee FC, Horoya AC, Ismaily SC, and El-Merreikh.
